Today marks the first official day of fall and I am excited for what that brings. Crunchy leaves, cooler weather, and lots of oversized sweaters. Our fall wreath has already been hung on our front door and our welcome mat laid out, but this weekend I will be picking up some fall scented candles to make our place even more festive. I love the smell of fall. It just makes me want to curl up on the couch with a cozy blanket and have a movie marathon.
I feel like we will be spending more time outdoors as the weather cools down, so l bought this super light military style jacket in navy at Target. It will be a great transitional piece and will be useful for the cooler mornings and nights when it isn’t cold enough for a proper jacket. It has a nautical feel which I love and can see it going great with my Hunter boots.
Since moving into a new place a few months back, I have purged a lot of items that just weren’t cutting it. Mainly because they no longer fit or I just was’t loving them anymore. I found that I had accumulated too many statement pieces that were hard to combine with my everyday favorites. I have been adding basic and classic pieces to build a good foundation that makes it is easy to mix and match. I wanted a striped tee and found this one ( similar here ) at Anthropologie. It fits my body shape in all the right places and I can definitely see it being part of my weekend uniform.
